This republic day RV Solutions Family vows to reduce and dispose off waste in their personal and professional workspace.
In the first phase, we would focus at reducing plastic waste responsibly.
In India, Around 70% of total plastic consumption is discarded as waste. According to the pollution control statistical body around 5.6 Million Tonnes Per Annum (TPA) of plastic waste is generated in country, which is about 15,342 tonnes per day (TPD). At least 40% of this waste is uncollected. In the last 70 years, 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic waste have been produced
(8.3billion Tonnes equals approximately 1 billion elephants or around 55 million jumbo jets)
The plastic item thrown as waste finds its way into unauthorised garbage dumps, or simply remain uncollected on road kerbs. Eventually, this plastic either burns in landfills, clogs rivers or other water bodies or is consumed by animals, and often find its way into our food systems.
The Eco Warriors at RV Solutions under the leadership of its CEO, Ms. Vandana Seth have decided in the first phase to purge plastic wastage and contribute to the environment. Vandana adds that ´plastic waste has major repercussions for people, wildlife and the environment. Plastic produced today will take at least ten generations to biodegrade, so management of this hazardous waste is fast becoming a top priority and we believe that a small step today would go a long way and help save the future of our country”
The Eco warriors have also taken a pledge on this occasion to implement the 4-Rs i.e. Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in their professional as well as personal workspaces to reduce the overall impact of plastic waste from their lives.
The team at RV Solutions have committed themselves towards reducing the usage of plastic in their day to day use at their homes and are also innovating themselves towards implementing more reusable plastic rather than single use plastic. The team would start segregating the plastic waste in office as well as their homes. The waste collected would be responsibly disposed off from office.
Let us all come together and work towards reusing and reducing plastic as much as possible. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Let us “Try to leave the earth a better place than when we arrived.”
